Kelly Sayers

Operations Manager and Mental Health First Aid Trainer

About

Hi, I’m Kelly (though most people call me Kel), and I’m the Operations Manager here at Phoenix Support for Educators. I’ve worked in the early education sector for over 13 years, and throughout that time my passion has always been advocating for quality care and learning experiences for children.

I grew up in a small country town in NSW before moving to the beautiful Sunshine Coast in 2009, where I lived until 2025. My family and I have recently returned to the country and now call the Gladstone region in QLD home. I share this life with my husband Shaun, our two children Heath and Brooke, and our beloved pug Sid. When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me camping, four-wheel driving, enjoying sports, or spending time with family and friends.

What drives me in my role is supporting early childhood leaders and educators to create environments where children feel safe, secure, and truly supported. I believe every child is unique, and it’s vital that their individuality is nurtured so they can grow, discover, and thrive.

I am also deeply passionate about mental health and grateful to have completed the Mental Health First Aid Instructor training. This has given me the privilege of travelling across Australia to deliver training that equips educators, leaders, and community members with practical skills to recognise the signs of mental ill-health, respond with confidence, and connect people with professional supports. I’ve seen first-hand how these workshops not only build individual knowledge, but also foster healthier, more compassionate workplaces and communities.

For over three years I’ve been proud to be part of the Phoenix Support team. I value the opportunity to contribute to our shared vision, and I continue to learn, reflect, and grow alongside my inspiring colleagues.
