This printable diary for educators features daily pages to organise and plan your time, sections for personal reflection, notes, and even pages to keep your post-it notes safe.

We have made our iconic planning diary available as a PDF download for easy and immediate access. Our customers asked, and we answered. We did this for you!

Our publications are full of beautiful pages designed to reignite your creative spark and love of documenting! In fact, many educators have told us that our publications have given them a renewed love of the job.

Each month features a planning wheel with each day dated as this in our digital edition. Our planning wheels are a quirky way for you to document some of the significant events during the course of the month. On the following pages are spaces for you to document team meetings either in the classroom itself or at the staff meeting.

Our daily layout enables you to document the day's events and learning in ways that suit you and your learning community. We have educators who mind map, write narratives or collage images with notes. In fact, you can do a blend of multiple documentation styles that suit you, your students and their families.

Documenting reflective practice is a great way of providing regular evidence of your thinking.  A space to document your thoughts around the elements of the curriculum, teaching and learning. The Phoenix Five Childrens Book

A storybook that fills more than just time - it fills Cups.

Meet The Phoenix Five, the first-ever children’s book created to nurture Needs Literacy in young readers. More than a beautifully illustrated story, this unique book introduces children to a powerful truth: everyone has different needs, and those needs are important.

Inspired by the Phoenix Cups® Framework, each vibrant character embodies one of five essential human life needs - Safety, Connection, Freedom, Mastery, and Fun. As children journey alongside these characters, they begin to recognise their own needs and develop the language to express them.

Through engaging storytelling and play-based reflection, The Phoenix Five offers children (and the adults who care for them) a gentle, empowering introduction to understanding what they feel, what they need, and why it matters.

This is not just a story. It’s a starting point for lifelong wellbeing, emotional resilience, and compassionate self-awareness.

[POR-01] Children's Behaviour Book Pack By Dr Louise Porter
Books
Children's Behaviour Book Pack
90.00

Dr Louise Porter's Children's Behaviour Book Pack

Young Children's Behaviour
This text is the equivalent title to Parental guidance recommended, written for early childhood teachers and centre-based care workers. It contains many of the ideas that are recommended for parents but also discusses issues that are specific to working with groups of children, such as managing group story and sleep times, resolving disputes between playmates, programming for children with disabilities or giftedness, collaborating with parents, and developing a centre policy on discipline.

Parental Guidance Recommended
This book replaces the popular Children are people too. Written for parents, it explains that although we often share the same values of the guidance approach, we end up instead using the controlling practices of rewards and punishments. This is mainly because we ourselves were raised that way, and because we get into a dance with our spirited children of coercion on our part and rebellion on theirs. However, the more we try to control these spirited children, the worse their behaviour gets. The book will help parents to prevent behavioural problems in children, support children who are distressed, be assertive when our own needs are not being met, and solve problems collaboratively. It also offers ways to solve persistent behavioural problems and reminds us to be compassionate towards ourselves.

Chicken expert, Summer Farrelly, is featured throughout the book in Summer Says info boxes. Being on the autism spectrum, she at times found social settings both challenging and confusing. Her chicken flock gave her a place to belong, help her build resilience, and accept who she is. Over the past few years she has achieved this and so much more.

THE EVOLUTION OF MISS GABBY

Not everyone’s first foray into film earns them a line that becomes a cultural phenomenon. “You’re terrible Muriel” has stamped Gabby Millgate into the Australian national consciousness. Gabby Has been quoted by Madonna, Will Ferrell and James Cordon.

In the years between filming and release of Muriel’s Wedding (1994), Gabby graduated from Charles Sturt University (BA Comm). ‘95-’99 Gabby starred in and wrote TV sketch comedy on Full Frontal and was invited to be the only comedian on Celebrity Big Brother. Other regular TV appearances included debates, panel and chat shows. Gabby has performed live in stand-up, cabaret and musicals. She has been the MC for corporate events and community events and festivals. 2006 Radio offered Gabby daily 4am starts, talking to everyone from truck drivers to the Prime Minister. Awards and nominations followed. Then Gabby’s sense of adventure took her to the outback, presenting Breakfast for ABC NWWA. Whilst living in the Aboriginal community of Roebourne, Gabby also taught in the Correctional Centre. Gabby formed intimate and influential relationships with the Ngarluma & Yindjibandi women during her time in Roebourne. It is here, in the driest, hottest part of Australia, Gabby learnt about chickens, edible gardens and sustainability from one of her listeners who was living off the grid-a wild human. With 20 years improvising under her belt with Sydney Theatresports, Gabby relishes the unexpected and spontaneous.

Gabby has taught improvisation and creativity workshops at Australia’s premier institutions;
NIDA, NSW Education Department, Sydney University and Charles Sturt University. During the reign of Australia’s first female Prime Minister, Gabby became a YouTube go-to as the UnReal Prime Minister of Australia with regular appearances on Sunrise, ACA, ABC24, 2UE, 2GB, MTR, 2DAYFM, MMM, FOX and ABCTV Comedy www.youtube.com/gabbymillgate. In 2012 Gabby retired from showbiz and found a new passion for life in Early Childhood Education becoming Miss Gabby. In this role Gabby combined her love and understanding of being a wild human in nature with her ability to advocate on behalf of children.

In 2017 Gabby became the first Nature Pedagogy Leader in the ACT presenting that same year at the Canberra Inspired EC Nature Pedagogy Conference along side Claire Warden. Her opening remarks were “What is the difference between a correctional facility and your childcare centre?”.

“My big passionate personal goal is to advocate for Nature Pedagogy in all Early Learning Centres.”
Gabby Millgate BA (Comm.) Dip. ECE
